Symphony on the Ring and Ribbon

Berry, Jay Scott

Jay Scott Berry

(Based on 1 review)
This 20-minute video contains Jay Scott Berry's classic routine for the Ring and Ribbon–one of his signature pieces.

Effect: A satin ribbon is tied in a knot, which then transforms into a solid brass ring. Both the ring and ribbon are handed out for examination and the ring is threaded onto the ribbon. The ring penetrates off the ribbon and back on again; vanishes completely and reappears. For the stunning finale, the ring is spun on the table and, in the blink of an eye, jumps onto the ribbon. Elegant visual wizardry at its best.

Includes the Master False Thread move, considered by many as the best move of its kind.

Jay Scott Berry's Symphony on the Ring and Ribbon is a first class, complete routine. It is complete in the sense of a magical opening, middle, and surprise ending. Well worth the investment in both time and money.

The routine is just what it says: the ring magically appears on and off the ribbon. Jay combines new moves - specifically his Master False Thread - with some standards into a nice flow. All of the moves are within the reach of most.

The routine comes with an instructional DVD that has been produced for an international audience. Everything is explained without spoken dialogue - just clear video and occasional screen text. You also receive the needed ring and ribbon. The ribbon can be replaced at a local craft store when the time comes.

The routine can be combined with Jay's other products into a really magical set. One caveat is that the final vanish isn't as clean without one of his more powerful tools. With or without these additional tools, the Ring and Ribbon is worthy of your consideration.
