The creator has gone through a lot of manufacturing pain to create a mediocre trick. A lot of thought has gone into the method. I guess that didn’t leave many brain cells for the actual effect.

There’s this trend in magic that focuses on quick, visual magic. I have no problem with that. But I don’t think you can make a career out of it.

To be effective, this one needs to be really quick. You also need tight control over your angles. It looks like the pen goes very deep into your arm… to the point where you’d expect the tip to be sticking out the other side of your forearm (especially if you’ve got wimpy forearms). But, of course, there’s nothing sticking out. So you’ve gotta move quick and not let them get a glimpse of the “bad side”.

The packaging claims that the pen is examinable. I suppose it is, to a point. But you’d better be sure your audience isn’t the curious type because you’re handing them a ticking time bomb.
