RAW

Sebastien Calbry and Jordan Victoria

PCTC Production

(Based on 1 review)
Two French creators have an idea in common.

From the minds of Jordan Victoria and Sebastien Calbry comes the most visual ink change on the back of a playing card yet.

Most of the other versions change the ink inside of a frame or a little inscription. With this original method, you will be able to change a BIGGER inscription.

This is an original method and one of the easiest you have ever seen.

Forget the magnets, weight, thread and even NOISE. This is a completely silent gimmick.

On top of that, Jordan and Sebastien did things well. Three gimmicks are provided. The first one allows you to change the face of a playing card and the second one the back of a playing card. The last one allows you to change the ink on the back of a playing card.

Inside the detailed explanations you will not only learn how to use both gimmicks but also how to make them in less than five minutes with material you already have at home.

Effect

RAW is a set of utility gimmicks that will facilitate you changing a card in three ways. One gimmick will allow you to change the face of a card, the second gimmick allows you to change the back (color) of a card and finally the last gimmick allows one to change the “ink” or as we say the writing on a card.

Method

The method utilizes three gimmicks, each one to perform a certain function depending on the desired effect. The gimmicks are cleverly assembled and takes advantage of pressure points to facilitate the changes. I was quite impressed on how ingenious the design(s) actually are. There is definitely a learning curve to using these. Due to the design of the gimmicks, a gentle touch is needed to create the change. This will be something that will have to be learned as anything more than the lightest push will make the card fly out of your hand.

Product Quality

The actual gimmicks are very well made. I do have issues with the instructional video. The instructions run about 25 minutes. It starts off with a crotch shot of a fellow using the gimmicks. This is done to some very annoying music. There is no attempt to explain which gimmick it is and you will have to match it up as he goes along. There is no speaking, the only sound is the annoying frenetic music. There are occasional notes on the bottom to give you semblance of what is happening. This goes for almost a third of the instructions. Then Sebastian Calbry comes on and speaks in French with an occasional note on the side of the screen. I always find it comical when they speak for 2 minutes and three sentences are translated. His part is to give you tips on handling. Finally, there is a section on making your own gimmicks. There are no performances or handling tips. In fact, there is no attempt to show you how to ring in the gimmicks either. Although the gimmicks are beautifully made, the biggest negative is the instructions or lack thereof.

Ad Copy Integrity

The ad copy is true, the changes can be made and there are no magnets or threads. If you are a card worker and can see the value in having gimmicks that will eliminate sleight of hand to make your changes easier this may have a place in your arsenal. However, if you are a beginner or intermediate card magician, you may have a hard time understanding where this can filt in your repertoire.
