Free fall is not so much a trick as it is a utility gimmick that makes a number of tricks possible. When Steve Brooks (of fame) first marketed this gimmick in 1995 each gimmick was made by hand. Today, he has the gimmicks specially made for him and they are now more versatile and easy to use. If you already own the original version then you know what I'm talking about and you may want to consider the upgrade.

The basic effect is this: A spectator picks a card, returns it to the deck, suffles, and the deck is returned to its case. The magician, empty handed, instantly removes the selected card right through the card case. Other applications include three effects by Aldo Columbini which allow the spectator to handle everything up to the final revalation; a version by Jerry Camaro that allows the selected card to be handed out at the end; and an offering from Mats Kjellstrom where the card is plucked from the...
