Product Description

Alexander de Cova is one of Germany's top professional magicians. His creative and innovative thinking shines through in this, his first English video series. Chinese Money Mystery, A very strong and visual coins across. Easy to learn and very direct.; Super Easy Triumph, A top selling hit at de Cova's lectures. A triple location Triumph that happens in a flash.; Purse Swindle, The tips and finesses disclosed in this effect are priceless. Just one silk and a purse frame and lots of magic.; Premonition Box, The most innovative deck switch gimmick in the magic world.; Stand Up Deck Switch, Some fine touches added to Edward Victor's Deck Switch makes this a smooth operation.; Ring-O-Matic, An astonishing ring-on-string appearance perfectly suited for the stand-up performer. A real visual treat. Boxed Transportation, This one is a killer in no small sense of the word. Watch this twice before you see the explanation. A signed card appears between four kings which are placed in the card box. Only four counted cards are loaded into the box, which the spectators can handle up to the last second. No complicated sleights. Your hands are clean from beginning to end.; 9-Card Monte, Mr. de Cova's handling of the Wild Card. This is one of the cleanest and best handlings devised yet. Very strong and visual magic that leaves the spectators baffled beyond repair.

I wish there had been an audience for the taping. The magic was quite good and I think an audience would have spiced up the performance segments.

DeCova presents solid, standard magic, usually with some small, but important improvements. He's very good about providing the history for those of us who like to do the research.

Here's a quick run-down of my favorite parts:

Vol 1
Triumph is amazing and very easy to do. It's basically Grant’s "Cheek-to-Cheek" with a few nice touches.

DeCova's work with the thumb tip is worth the price of this DVD. Purse swindle is an excellent example for learning to use his alternate handling.

It's sad that the Premonition Box was ripped off. It's sad that we sometimes support knockoffs without knowing it.
