EFFECT:

In this version, you display a coin tray and a clear plastic cup. Both can be inspected by your audience! You place a coin on the tray (let's say a penny) to lure THE LEPRECHAUN. Then you cover the coin tray capturing the invisible leprechaun and penny under the clear cup. Next, you ask an audience member to lend you a coin (let's say a dime). You take the coin and place it on the cup (covering it with your hand). In the blink of an eye, the leprechaun leaps up and grabs the dime THROUGH THE SOLID CUP! BOTH COINS ARE NOW UNDER THE SLID CUP! A totally impossible sight to see!

Overview

The Leprechaun is another of Murphy's Magic great Apprentice Line tricks. With wonderful packaging and a cheap price tag, these tricks are great gifts for budding magicians.

At only $8.95 this will make some young magician very happy.

Effect

You have a small round tray and either there is a coin already in it or you place on in it. You then cover the tray with a provided clear plastic cup and show a coin which you "press" through the top of the glass and it miraculously penetrates through the cup.

It is very visual.

Super easy to perform.

The tray can pass some inspection.

Method

The trick is possible due to the special tray. There are many versions of this trick on the market for ages. This is a bit less complex than some others. Without giving anything away, there is no hidden compartment in play with this version.

Its so easy to do it is almost self-working.

Product Quality

Very good quality for a product that is less than $10 bucks. A very good, to the point instructional video is taught by Javier Fuenmayor.

Overview

The Leprechaun by Apprentice Magic is another of one of their releases geared for the beginning magician. All the tricks in this series are simple, classic magic tricks that many experienced magicians have long been acquainted with. Once manufactured in brass and exotic woods, these classics are more seen nowadays in the plastic versions like the one offered here. Despite the materials the trick is made of, the effect is the same. And the effect relies more on the presentation than the object, and that’s where the magic lies.

Effect

The performer takes out a metal small dish and tells the tale of how Leprechauns like to stash their money. He takes a coin places it on the dish and covers it with a plastic cup. Now the question is, how does the Leprechaun stash more money in the dish if the cup is covering it? That’s an easy answer, with magic. The performer takes out another coin and presses it through the solid cup and POP, now there are two coins in the dish.

Method

Naturally the prop does all the work for you, which leaves you nothing but to focus on the delivery. Unless you know the secret behind the method, it is extremely hard to re-engineer. Don’t be fooled by the low cost of this product, it works just as good as the ones made out of more expensive materials. There is a tiny bit of handling requires for it to be done as demonstrated but anyone over the age of five can probably do it. By the way, coins are not included and the method is cleverly disguised.

Product Quality

The props are made of inexpensive materials but that shouldn’t deter someone from giving this a go. The “trick” is the ability to weave a good tale. In other cheap versions of this trick you would probably get typed instructions on a miniscule piece of paper that you may be able to understand. With The Leprechaun, you will not only get the props but a downloadable video instruction featuring Javier Fuenmayor, Murphy’s Magic new spokesperson. Javier brings this trick to a new level. Ever excited and well spoken, Javier teaches you the routine and a premise to hang it on. Filmed on a beautiful set in High Definition, Javier brings what is needed most in magic; enthusiasm. This is well worth the purchase just to watch Javier.

The product delivers all that is posted. Apprentice Magic has the right idea which is bringing back tired and worn out classics and revitalizing them and breathing new life in to this old friends.
