Overview

SCC Black by N2G is a novel coin routine which brings the stretched coin concept to another level. The stretched coin effect is not new and there have been other stretched coin effects in the past such as Alex Lourido’s Foil Coin. However, SCC allows you to expand the routine to three phases. Available in two sizes which are half dollar and dollar size but the half dollar size seems more practical to me.

Effect

The performer takes out a Chinese coin and hand it to a spectator to inspect. He then takes out an American Half dollar and asks the spectator to see if they can push the American half dollar through the hole in the Chinese coin. It is quite obvious they can’t. The performer then takes out a lighter, heats of the metal a little bit and stretches the coin in front of the spectators’ very eyes. It is not enough though; the American half still cannot pass through. Undaunted, the performer adds some more heat and final the coin and hole is stretched enough for the half to pass through. This is one of three routines suggested by the creators.

Method

The method of course relies on gimmicked coins and sleight of hand. The set comes with three coins, one regular, one partially stretched and one fully stretched. If you purchase this trick, familiarity with the shuttle pass and French drop is a must. For two of the routines, the coins must be held in a stacked position so take into account your hand size because the coins will take up a bit of real estate.

Product Quality

The coins are extremely well made. They look and feel good in the hand. The coins have a nice weight to them and give off an air of quality. The instructional is fairly poor unfortunately. It is less than 15 minutes long and the video and sound quality leaves a lot to be desired. The routines are shown without much fanfare and the moves are barely explained. Beside the lackluster explanation the video and sound quality is mediocre at best.

Ad Copy Integrity

The ad copy explains what you get and a possible routine so it is accurate. This is one more for the intermediate and above coin worker to make it look natural.
