Mexican Paper Tear

Alexander Illusions LLC

(Based on 1 review)
This is Scott's streamlined handling for the classic Leipzig Cigarette Paper Tear that can play for an intimate parlor setting or for 1000 people on stage. Scott has taken this classic plot and infused it with laugh-grabbing jokes and a really funny routine. Plus, the method employs a cleverly diabolical gimmick for super easy handling. Your hands appear as clean as a whistle at all times. No funny moves, no sticky stuff and no complicated reset. It sets up in seconds.

Talk about your pack small and play big tricks, this one is the ultimate worker!

Comes with papers, gimmick and training DVD

PROS

There are many paper tear routines out there. If you have a paper tear routine that you are happy with, then you might not find anything exceptional here. However, he has a great routine and he talks about the entertainment value of each step and how each step is designed to make the next stronger. I would say the real advantage to this routine is the thorough thinking of a seasoned professional.

The effect uses a few gimmicks. It comes with the gimmicks and they are good quality. He teaches how to customize one of the gimmicks. That alone is a great bit of information.

He teaches an excellent handling that makes the whole thing self contained in one pocket.

This is well suited for close-up, walk-around, parlor, and stage.

CONS

I think the only downside is if you already do the paper tear, but don’t have the strongest routine you could have. You might overlook this product. I am familiar with many methods to perform the paper tear, and I was very pleased with this purchase.

VERDICT

A great paper tear routine that looks so clean it is really great!

Suggestions

I really think that this routine lends itself to a good personal story. If your magic can weave real experiences you have had with a bit of humor or other form of entertainment, and strong magic, you have the recipe for a good routine. If your performance without the magic is entertaining, then when you add good magic, it is over the top. I really love this routine because I have a very entertaining true story of when I was a kid of around eight years old. We went to a Spanish speaking island and before lunchtime, I was always starving from spending hours out in the ocean. The only thing open at this old cabin style hotel was the bar. The bartender would get me some rice and seafood, but he also taught me how to drink tequila shots. The story is entertaining, and, as unbelievable as it is, it is true, and it lends itself to good magic. You may have some college story that would lend itself well to this sort of routine.
