Powerball 60 has become one of my favorite carry around effects. Whenever the subject of the lottery comes up, and it does frequently, I have a natural lead into the routine.
Opening my wallet I pull out some lotto tickes (they are a good representation of the powerball used in our area). I say, just missed again. I wish I were a magician.... - wait I am. I can't help myself but perhaps I can help you.
Before asking for their 'lucky number' between one and 60 I put down a crumpled piece of paper in front of them. They then see how many tickets would have won had they played their lucky number.
I open the crumpled piece of paper to show that I predicted the correct number of winning cards (a simple switch). That is usually a disappointing bit of magic. Often the spectator says - but if you were a magician you could tell me what my secret number was. With no further ado, I simply name their only known to them number!
It plays just the way described in the promo and as I described above in the routine I use. The crumpled paper is a distraction that makes the final reveal even more magical.
You receive the lotto cards (brilliantly done and strong enough to last more than a year in my billfold with no degrading of their quality). The instructions provided with Powerball 60 are excellent. They describe the 'secret' in easily understandable terms and then some variations are presented giving lots of ideas to consider. A very complete package.
I love Powerball 60. Rather than having to say, 'Let me show you some magic..." this just comes up in ordinary conversatiion. It plays well for one or more spectators. You can have five different people select five secret numbers and reveal them all - that is up to you. No forces are used, no writing of the number on a special clipboard or center tears are needed to gain the information.
As with any magic, the moment of deception needs to be disgused or diffused through patter, but in this effect that is extremely easy to do.
There seems to be no explanation for your ability to accurately determine their 'lucky number.' It is named with no 'phishing.' Superb magic that will be a reputation maker for you. Carry it in your wallet. Perform it anytime, any where.
