The Amazing Briefcase

Anton Corradin

(Based on 1 review)
The Amazing briefcase by Anton Corradin is a fantastic accessory to lend more magic to any of your routines!

The performer appears onstage holding a briefcase, looks for a table where to place it but does not find one. He then decides to open the briefcase holding it with his hands and produces a large handkerchief from it. While he opens the handkerchief with both hands he notices, in utter amazement, that the briefcase is floating in mid-air!

The performer opens the handkerchief and wraps it around the briefcase so that the space between the briefcase and the floor is now covered. The magician now opens the briefcase to get all the elements he needs for his routine! As per the pictures above, the briefcase may be used as a table when closed, and it may be adjusted to a higher or lower level in order to interact with the audience. But wait -- there's much more!

By the end of the show, the briefcase begins to move in mid-air. The performer finally manages to control it, closing it up, and he removes the handkerchief and shows both sides of the briefcase so that the audience sees it is completely ordinary!

The blurb is all accurate, but sounds a bit better than it really is. There is not a whole lot of space left in the briefcase besides the inner workings that make this effect work - unless you have a silk or a "packs very flat" routine intended.
I was disappointed because the front (lock/hasp) side was not reinforced at all. The main mechanism is clever and of good quality, but this reinforcement omission is not good - and the way this side of the case is stressed when in the harness, I'm sure it will break soon if not remediated.
The harness which helps the case initially float was too small and the briefcase drooped horribly when attached to it - even though I put a good bend in the harness to compensate.
After two run throughs, the case side hasps began to fail to engage, and so after the effect the case would not be completely retracted to it's normal appearance position.
This is a great idea and has a whole lot of potential. You may need to do a little corrective engineering.
