I have done quite a lot of fish magic and this was not one of my favorites. I've tried a lot too.

The magician displays both sides of a small dry-erase white board. A fish bowl with a little fish inside is drawn on the board. The performer then turns the board around and holds it upside down. He passes a real fish bowl underneath the board and a live fish drops into the water! When the board is turned around and the drawing of the fish is gone.
