A Host of Surprises

Hooper, Edwin

Supreme

(Based on 2 reviews)
Edwin Hooper who founded the Supreme Magic Co., in England has written many magic books and invented many magic tricks, which are used by magicians all over the world. After his retirement from Supreme he wrote a number of books, this one being one of his last.

This book is hard bound and contains over 300 illustrated pages. There are wonderful photographs as well. Most important there are 84 great tricks fully detailed in 14 chapters. 'Tricky Rope Tricks'; 'Kiddie-ramma' Parts 1 and 2; 'Cards with a touch of mentalism'; 'Silky Things'; 'Jumbos and Giants'; 'Micro Mysteries' (including Edwin's famous Finger Chopper routine); 'A Magic Miscellany'; 'The Lucky Bran Tub'; 'Topping Tricks With Toys' (8 great new effects); 'Clearly Clairvoyant' (Mental mysteries, which make almost a complete act); 'Last in the Book'. Great new feature magic, first time published anywhere.

Wow! I loved this book from the first time I picked it up. Edwin gives you some very useable tricks for children shows. You could easily design several shows just from this one book. Many of these tricks require some construction, but I found none of the tricks too difficult to build for a do it yourselfer. To buy all the tricks in here, it could cost thousands. I own the Kid Stuff volumes, many of David Ginn's books, and children's magic books but I probably use this one book the most. A great deal!

If you have any of Edwin's other books than you will know how brilliant they are.
This book is no different. It's full of Tricks and ideas to suit everyone. It contains Silk, rope, childrens etc many of which were actually sold by Supreme Magic Co.
No pipe dreams here, Just practical magic.
All with clear descriptions and drawings.
It really is a book of surprises.
