This is the first Jay Sankey product I've reviewed and watching this DVD took me back in time. When I was a teenager, I was a card-carrying move monkey and I read books like SANKEY PANKEY over and over. I was at the taping of Jay's first video for the public, which was produced by U.S. Toy Magic. I wore that tape out when it was finally released. But shortly after turning 17 I went on to other things. Twenty years later I watched SMASHED! and found little had changed about Sankey's nutty sense of humor and his passion for all things visual. This effect was originally released in the 1980's without any video. I'm happy to report that the DVD really is better than anything that could have been printed on this variation of David Roth's KARATE COIN. Sankey explains more than he has to as he takes the viewer through everything from pencil and gimmick preparation to handlings, to history, to clean-ups and finally tricks you'll want to sandwich around this quickie. Overall, I was very pleased with the instruction provided and felt like I got plenty of bang for my buck. This is a great little visual effect any strolling magician can drop in between other effects. Recommended.
