Show a small wooden model of the famous French Guillotine. Hand it out for examination. Let them look at the blade. Let them look at the holder. Now, have them place their finger into the holder. Place the blade atop their finger. Incant the magic words and slam down the blade. A match below their finger is actually cut in two. And, when they try and lift the blade, they'll find it's on the other side of their finger. Ask them to remove their finger form the chopper and examine the props. They will find nothing.
