Overview
It is said that an office supply store is a Mentalist’s supermarket. Very rare is it that a mentalism show does not have at least one envelope involved. Also, it is rare that a mentalist does not make use of the multiple out as a means of convincing the audience he has predicted the outcome. Second in his DIY series, The Empty Multiple Out Envelope by Scott Creasey reveals the inner workings of the multiple out envelope. Effect
Regardless of the premise, one or more spectators are given choices to make. The one who makes the correct choice can leave with a nice prize. Unfortunately, despite all the deliberating the one who is left with the best outcome is the mentalist himself. Originally called Bank Night, Just Chance and other names, the idea that the spectator(s) feels they have an opportunity to best the mentalist is decades old. Method
The multiple out envelope has been a tool used by mentalists for nearly a century or more. Although there are many commercially made envelopes on the market, they are expensive to purchase and ultimately expensive to replace. Scott Creasey, being a pragmatic mentalist, devised a way to create multiple out envelopes with ordinary mailing envelopes. Although Creasey was not the first to do this, his release of The Empty Multiple Out Envelope covers the making, handling and use of the envelopes in one 40-minute download.Product Quality
The download covers making the multiple out envelopes out of several different types of envelopes. He discusses the pros and cons of each and the best way to match the prediction to the size of envelope. Also covered is the folding, placement and retrieval of the predictions, all the while being able to show that the prediction was the only one in the envelope. To bring the download to a conclusion he discusses the framework of two possible routines. As far as the video quality, it was at best utilitarian. The quality is sufficient enough to follow along and understand what was needed. Ad Copy Integrity
The download covers all what was stated in the ad copy. As a side note, the routines discussed covers only where the multiple out envelope was used in Creasey’s routine not the entire routine in which they were used. However, if one is involved in mentalism, you will probably already have an idea where the multiple out envelope can be used.Final Thoughts
Overall, this is a fairly thorough download. The only shortcoming, I can see is that not much was offered as far as routines go. However, if one is involved in mentalism, routines abound where you can utilize these envelopes.
