Kreis

Kreis Corporation

(Based on 1 review)
Another masterpiece from Kreis Magic! It looks similar to its predecessor, but a brand new version.

Spectator fastens the nut on the bolt and then the nut rotates in both forward and reverse directions. The direction is fully controllable. The reverse rotation looks almost like turning back the clock.

The M8 size bolt with an inside diameter of 5mm contains an electronic circuit which makes the nut rotate in forward and reverse directions. Kreis's surprisingly precise machining has made it feasible.

As same as the original version:
  • Nothing to hide in your hands.
  • Can be repeated as many times as you want.
  • Fully examinable before and after the effect.
  • Easy battery replacement.
  • One year warranty.
  • No clothing limitation. You can wear short-sleeves, or you don't even have to be wearing clothes.
When you get one, you will be surprised to see the sophisticated mechanism.

I was quite pleased to have received a copy of this effect, which was on sale, online. The usual price, is high, but appropriate considering what this thing does. In ways, it reminds me of the effect Ultracinese, which costs even more. I usually don't like to dwell on price issues here-but I can see how some people may shy away from this because of cost. In my opinion, it's worth it.

So, the original demo I saw, had a magician/demo guy, on the street, and elsewhere, working this marvelous 'toy', which inexplicably animates itself. The 'in your face, up close, special effects type' of stunning demo. To me, showing the effect in such a naked form, well-it reminded me of the guy who demoed Ginsu knives on t.v.-"Look at what these things do!!!".

I imagine there are tons of teen boys who had to have one of these, and may take the same approach. For me, this effect deserves a bit more subtley-similar to more traditional Haunted Bolt effects. Seeing half of the bolt, while the other is cloaked behind a silk, or card, adds mystery. The only way to arrive at a more creative presentation is thru playing around with this-and understanding how the prop can be placed for presentations other than holding it in the fingertips. I was honestly so tickled by this thing, that the battery needed to be changed in like a day.

I also discovered that my local Office Depot sells an 8 pack of hearing aid batteries for about 9 bucks. Again, this effect is so visually arresting, and clean, that the battery issue is no problem. Perhaps my favorite presentation, is the one I showed to magician Eric Price-which was sitting at a table, with a small plate in front of me, and squeaky clean hands.

When I decided, I let the nut spin-and after the smiles, and the the wonderment of Eric's lady friend, all was examinable. There is truly nothing to find, particularly if a PK is used under a working surface. Even in the hand, there's no fear considering that the setup takes place as spectator is putting the nut on the bolt. It's just a dream effect in many ways, and definitely guarentees strong reactions. I highly recommend this, and more, suggest working creative ways to present it. This, to me, it is too sweet a piece to 'show off' in like, a minute.
