Uncle Moe's ESP Cards

(Based on 1 review)
Listen to Uncle Moe.

If you do any magic or mentalism with ESP cards then stop using those boring plus signs, circles, squares, etc...

Uncle Moe's ESP deck is a standard set of 25 cards using images your audience can relate to:
  • car
  • diamond ring
  • boat
  • money
  • vacation
If you currently use a standard ESP deck then you equate the symbols like this:
  • Circle - Ring
  • Plus - Vacation
  • Wavy lines - Boat(waves)
  • Square - Money (rectangle)
  • Star - Car
Uncle Moe's ESP Deck will add some excitement to your ESP routines.
... and Uncle Moe wants you to know that these poker size cards are premium quality and were printed in the USA.

I suspect I'm going to be laughed at by the “serious” mentalists. Of course, that's cool with me because I think what's generally wrong with mentalists is that their performances, if you can call them that, are much too serious. If you look at some of the top working mentalists like Max Maven, Ross Johnson and Christian & Katalina, their acts rely heavily on humor.

My ignorance of the inner realms of mentalism allows me to look at things from something approaching a layperson's point of view. With that in mind, I really like these cards. You get five sets of five cards, just like with a regular Rhine ESP deck. But instead of the normal symbols, you have things that actually mean something: a boat, a diamond ring, a pile o' cash, a sports car and an island (obviously representing exotic travel).

Of course, having pictures of things that people recognize opens up a lot of options for presentational angles.

The cards, themselves, have a pretty serious plastic coating. I suspect they would last for a long time. But at $10 a deck, who cares if you have to replace them every couple of months.

There's only one suggestion I would make to the manufacturer: how about another deck with symbols that aren't all representations of success (primarily financial). I would have loved to see cards representing other human desires such as love.
