Ok many of you probably know that Jay Sankey and I are good friends and that we've worked together on a project or two in the past, and we also are consultants to one another.

I get feedback from him on my stuff, and he gets feedback from me on a lot of his stuff. Additionally, I do not receive any sort of compensation whatsoever for reviewing or "pitching" his products (I was not involved in this particular project).

I tell you that up front just to sort of clear the air and to let you know that when I give Jay feedback, I'm brutally honest with him. I tell him if I think he has a crappy idea or a good idea. He wouldn't have it any other way, nor would I. So I want to make it clear that Jay's products get the same level of scrutiny as any other products I review.

On to the review:
Invisible comes with an "Invisible" deck and almost 2 hours of DVD training. All for $20.00 to $25.00 depending on where you purchase. First of all, consider that most of the time just an Invisible Deck alone costs about $7 or $8 bucks. So for around $15.00 bucks you're getting 2 hours worth of incredible material regarding this classic prop.

Whether you currently do the Invisible Deck or you've never heard of it (because you live on Neptune), this is a great DVD to have. Jay covers the history of the deck, the classic performance and several different presentational ideas that he has used over the years.

He has a couple of different ideas about how to make the deck more visible and workable for stand up venues. He also has some cool ideas for building a little mystery around the deck itself. I've gained several new presentational ideas that I will be using. There are tips on structure and tips on how to physically handle the deck, and so much more . . . just tons of stuff that most people have never thought of.

The only criticism I have of this DVD is that there were some parts where Jay seemed a bit rushed, like he was a bit in a hurry. I think it was mainly because he was so dang excited about this video. Part of me loves this side of Jay. I love it when he gets excited about what he's doing because the passion shows in his teaching and in his magic. That excitement conveys to me someone who has a lot to offer and is very passionate about his craft. Just beware: you may have to rewind a couple of times. :)

I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that you'll find something (likely you'll find several "somethings") on this DVD that will go into your proverbial and literal bag of tricks . . . GEM!

The invisible deck is one of those tools or tricks that all magicians have owned or played with at one time or another. Jay Sankey examines this venerable old trick with a microscope. He really gives a masters thesis on ideas, psychology, and handlings of this brilliant piece of magic.

If you have long ago thrown your invisible deck in the junk drawer or have been performing it the same old way for years, this DVD should get you excited. I know many people will moan if I mention the Invisible Deck, but Jay really shows you many presentations and various methodologies with this deck.

If you are a beginner and watch this, you will wonder why everyone is not doing the Invisible Deck. If you have more years in magic than you can remember you will be searching the junk drawer and pulling it out.

I know he fired up my thought processes on how I can put this beauty back in my show.

To use an old cliché this is not your grandfathers Invisible Deck.
