All performers doing Childrens' Shows know how difficult it is to get something that will be easy enough for the very youngest to follow, yet sufficiently intriguing for those a little older. Well, here it is, a pretty trick, charming in conception with a realistic story and a surprise finish. A large frame (approx. 13” sq.) which is The Spider’s House, is shown all round, and sitting in the centre of his Invisible web is the Golden Spider. The Spider is taken and placed on the palm of the hand for he will never move when the light is on him. He is very clever and well trained as the children will see. You now place him back in his house and cover it with a screen. Then a box with balls of differently coloured wool is shown and the children are allowed to choose one of them. The balls of wool are taken from the box and dropped over the top of the screen, one at a time. You tell the children that the clever Spider will try to find the wool they have chosen. The Spider seems to have some difficulty so all the children have to shout out the colour VERY LOUDLY. (This can be repeated). Eventually he finds it and gets to work, and the performer gives a running commentary of what is happening behind the screen! At last you remove the screen.
THERE IN THE FRAME IS A SPIDER’S WEB, WITH THE GOLDEN SPIDER SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF IT!. THE CHOSEN BALL OF WOOL HAS VANISHED! Fascinating story with full patter ... Mechanical Action cannot fail. Very Pretty. Beautifully Made. The Children love It. Complete in every detail and ready to work at once.
