There are card effects, and there are card effects. This is about the latter. You know, the kind of tricks that are so magical looking the audience almost forgets they’re watching a pack of cards. It’s a lofty goal, to construct a routine with that kind of power. But that’s exactly what Larry has attempted to do with the effects on this videotape. Not that anyone will be constructing altars in homage to your existence. But I do think you’ll enjoy the work Larry's done; I feel it’s some of his best. There are many new effects here that have fried the boys at the Castle. For example, Card Up Spectator’s Sleeve, Flawed Transposition, and Sucker Punch are three favorites. Not all of them are easy. But not all of them require slavish practice, either. The tape also includes a lot of fresh thinking on several of the classics, including a version of Twisting the Aces which I know the Professor would be proud of. Plus, there’s expert tips on moves like The Gambler’s Cop and The Top Card Cover Pass; there’s a very pretty version of Single Cup & Ball, and there’s even footage of a live performance in the Close-Up Gallery at the Magic Castle, just so you know I’m not full of hyperbole when I tell you these effects cause spectators to reevaluate their religious convictions. Almost two hours. Contains: Cannibal Kings: Classic plot, with multiple vanish endings. Sucker Punch: A red herring throws them off until the last moment. Oil & Water: This time the spectator helps mix the cards. Baffling. Aces for Experts:A new, seamless method of Vernon's Slow -Motion Aces. Card Up Spectator’s Sleeve: Unbelievable bar or walk-around effect. Quick, invisible, direct. The Top-Card Cover Pass, The Gambler’s Cop, Nothing Yet Aces: Four randomly touched cards change to aces. Twisting the Aces with a Twist--More logical than ever before, with a beautiful clean-up. Flawed Transposition: A one-at-a-time transposition, with an unforgettable ending. Single Cup & Ball: Start with nothing. End with nothing. In-between, a true classic. Estimated Toss: A great control. A killer finish. LarRoy Reverse: A collaboration with Roy Walton to reverse a card. Deck to Pocket: A clean card to pocket. Guess the finale.
