Overview

Atom Rings is another release by Apprentice Magic which is geared towards the beginning magician. All the tricks in this series are classic magic tricks that many experienced magicians have long been acquainted with. Once manufactured in metal, brass and exotic woods, these classics are more seen nowadays in less expensive versions such as this trick here.

Effect

The performer begins a discussion about everything around us is made up of empty space. To prove his point, he takes out four metal rings and proceeds to demonstrate how solid can pass through solid. The routine has several phases which culminates with all four rings linked.

Method

Atom Rings is a basic linking ring set which will give the beginning magician a taste of more complex magic performance. Unlike other Apprentice Magic releases, this one is not self working. A lot of effort and practice will be required even though this is an entry level set.

Product Quality

This is a small version of the Linking Rings. Unlike most Apprentice Magic releases this will require practice. Apprentice Magic items deliver a great value for the dollar. The props provided are of decent quality (for the price) and would withstand the onslaught of abuse it will probably receive by young, perhaps clumsy magicians. Atom Rings is a great value for less than than $10. The instructions are phenomenal featuring Javier Fuenmayor, Murphy’s Magic new spokesperson. Javier brings this trick to a new level. Ever excited and well spoken, Javier teaches you the routine and a premise to hang it on. Filmed on a beautiful set in High Definition, Javier brings what is needed most in magic; enthusiasm.

Method

Any of you that have been in magic for some time will recognize this as the ‘The Linking Rings' effect. This is a very easy effect to learn and do, no tricky or complicated slights or moves to accomplish. The simple move you have to do can be learned very quickly and is very natural. As there is no set up required it can be repeated immediately. This effect is relatively angle proof.

Product Quality

The rings you receive are very well made and because they are made of metal, they will last for years and years. They are polished very nicely so will handle smoothly. The ‘gimmick’ cannot break so no issues of that should be concerned.

Ad Copy Integrity

The ad is very accurate, you get what is promised. The online video tutorial is superb. It is almost 11 minutes long and you will be taught everything to will need to know. You will learn not only how to perform this illusion but a whole patter and story line that you can use in your performance of it. Years ago you would just receive some printed instructions, this video is perfect for the beginner.

Final Thoughts

If you want, just use one of the rings for a great rope and ring routine. There are many out there that you can learn. Great for strolling magic and parlor shows as the rings are not huge and clumsy. This is a great buy for the price.

If you are new to magic it is great illusion to seat with. Learn to perform this classic piece of magic like a pro. Perfect for gifts, loot bags at parties or if you are a Pro, this make a great up-sell at your birthday party shows.
