Overview

Magic is, by all intents and purposes about have supernatural abilities. Whether it is reading peoples’ minds or controlling the elements. Flame seemingly gives one the ability to levitate the flame of a lighter. I wouldn’t call this effect a show stopper by any means but if you were the type to carry a lighter with you and you wanted to have a built in effect then maybe you will want to give Flame a try.

Effect

While displaying an ordinary lighter the performer ignites the lighter and focuses his attention on the small flame. Slowly but surely the flame starts to levitate above the lighter and settles back down. He does this again and snatches the flame in his hand and snuffs it out.

Method

Every now and then, some clever magician discovers a unique trait in an ordinarily manufactured item and is able to exploit it to produce a magical effect. It is no different with Flame. An unintentional characteristic in the design of the lighter allows you to take advantage of its design. With minor finger movement you can adjust he height of the flame without any visible signs.

Product Quality

Unfortunately, I found lighting and maintaining the flame consistently on the lighter I received very difficult. It took about 30 strikes to even get a flame and the flame itself wasn’t sustainable. Once I finally got the lighter lit, it barely rose before sputtering out. The downloadable instructions are very well done and thorough. Nearly 30 minutes between two videos, everything is covered from filling the lighter, safety cautions, the handling of the lighter. replacing the flint and finally a short routine.

Ad Copy Integrity

If the lighter worked as it should the ad copy would be very accurate.

Final Thoughts

If you wanted to do a lighter effect, there are so many others to choose from that offer more of a solid and consistent effect.
