Final Load Ball by Leo Smetsers, is well…a final load ball. What can be said about a Final Load Ball. For those that do not know, at the end of a cup(s) and ball routine there typically is a surprise ending which culminates in displaying a “load” that is radically different than the balls that were used throughout the routine. The final reveal can be fruit or vegetables such as a potato or an orange or it can be a similar type of object like a ball but substantially larger. The size of the final load typically looks too big to fit under the cup itself. This disparity is enhanced by the shape up the cup and matching a ball that fits under it but just so. One of the most famous cubs and balls performer actually produced a melon from under his at at the end.
Effect
A large ball is produced from under a cup that appears too small to have the ball in it in the first place.
Method
The method to put the final load into the cup itself is what makes the production so surprising. Careful coordination of moves and clever misdirection allows the performer to get the load into the cup without raising suspicion. This requires hundreds of hours of practice for the entire routine to appear seamless which is why a good routine is so revered.
Product Quality
The ball is very well made and what I find interesting about this particular ball is that unlike many load balls which are very stiff, this ball actually has quite a bit of bounce to it. In addition, there is a nice rubbery feel to the ball which helps with the grip while it is palmed. The rubbery feel allows for you to relax your hand so it doesn’t have the typical claw like look that some performers have while trying to keep the load hidden. There are no instructions provided as one who would be purchasing this already has a routine in mind.
