Money, Money

Bazar De Magia

(Based on 1 review)
May you change this one dollar bill into a one hundred?... Sure we all have often heard this! To change the value of the bills is an often request of the spectators. Perhaps that's why Patrick Page created, time ago, the first version of his trick "Papers changed into bills". Since then many other versions of the trick were created, but all of them require a gimmick, and not ALL the bills may be examined. Now, Juan Pablo and Bazar de Magia created "Money Money". With his version you may transform five one dollar bills, that the spectator gives you, into five one hundred dollar bills!!! Which the spectator may examine and you may offer to him!!! No Gimmicks. No double bills. No magnets. ALL the bills may be examined. And, if you wish, you may give ALL THE BILLS to the spectator! You may change pieces of paper into bills, or otherwise. All kinds of bills may be used, provided all have the same size. You receive a one hour DVD (in English and Spanish) with all the explanations, some variations and tips, and all you need to perform this miracle and amaze your audience with "Money, Money".

CONS

I normally start out with the “PROS”, but this time I have to start with the “CONS”. First, I must say that this review is being written in 2022, and that has nearly everything to do with why I am starting with the “CONS”. I can only speak for the part of the world I live in, but people are using paper money less and less and less. In fact, at this point I would say that the majority of people rarely or never use a piece of paper money. Now, I suppose you could do a routine that talks about how you miss paper money, so even though I have given this product a low rating personally, perhaps there is still a limited use for this product out there.

I don’t know if this is a “CON” or not, but since I know many people LOVE gimmicks, they will be sad to know that his does not use any gimmick. Many, like myself don’t see this as a problem.

PROS

I thought about how to describe the method, as it is quite fascinating, and what I have come up with is that it is like a mix of origami and ballet. Let me clarify, there are NO complicated origami folds. However, the method is a combination of simple folds and arrangements and simple choreographed moves to make it all happen. It really is a beautiful work of art. If I were writing this review even ten years earlier, I might have given this one a five star review. Keep that in mind, if you think you may have a routine that suits what may be a dying prop (paper money).

The ad copy is honest. This is not difficult to do, and it looks great in real life, just like in the trailer.

The instruction is nearly an hour long and it covers several different explanations suited for different skill sets, different routines, and different situations. The explanation is done very well. Pablo speaks Spanish, but the Spanish audio has been muted and the explanation dubbed in English very effectively.

I wouldn’t say that the effect is terribly difficult to perform, but it will require a bit of practice, so I would rate it low end intermediate. I wouldn’t rate it beginner, as this is not a “get out of box and perform” sort of thing. This is a relatively easy routine that will take some practice to get it right and smooth.

VERDICT

If I could, I would have rated this two stars with a three star asterisk explanation, and the explanation would be that my biggest problem with this effect is that I believe it is terribly dated because of how the usage of paper money has dropped off a great deal over the years. However, that wouldn't work, because then it would look like a five star rating. LOL. Seriously, who knows, maybe paper money makes a comeback one day. I doubt it.

If you think the dating of paper money is irrelevant to what you want to do, then I HIGHLY recommend this product.

Oooof, this was a difficult review. Hopefully you see from my review that for me, this was not good, but for some it could be great, and hopefully that helps you decide.

Suggestions

The only suggestion I have is I think you really need to consider how you would present this. I wouldn’t recommend buying it because it looks cool, and it does, because you might end up presenting this to someone and they are likely to just say: “You still use paper money?” However, perhaps you are thinking of a more formal routine where you tell a story about the good ol’ days when people actually used paper money. In that case, this is a REALLY GOOD product.
