Finally you can learn and perform Wordsmyth, the hit trick that fooled Penn & Teller! Wordsmyth is mentalism with fascinating props and an intriguing plot.

In an amazing coincidence, a spectator randomly selects a word from a dictionary as participants take randomly selected scrabble tiles from a net bag. These tiles are formed into any word...that perfectly matches the prediction.

You receive everything you need to perform this parlor miracle: you get the forcing bag, the necessary scrabble tiles, the custom made tray for the tiles (which has the slickest switching device you can imagine built into it), the fake-tip pencil, and the perfect storage case to keep the props together. You also get a DVD detailing every aspect of the trick and presentation. The only thing you need to supply is a soft-back book or dictionary.

Great parlor material is VERY difficult to find, particularly material that doesn't involve playing cards. That's why Wordsmyth is so highly acclaimed and useful.

The effect is very easy to learn and perform. This is one that you can insert into your parlor show to add something truly unique and different.

When I saw Francis Menotti do this on Penn & Teller's FOOL US, I smiled. Menotti's wonderful script really brings this to life and he gets lots of audience participation, making the odds seem even more impossible that he could know the word constructed. For $50.00, one gets almost all the props necessary (scrabble tiles, DVD, a special bag, a special pencil and one extra gimmick that makes the whole thing work). The only item not provided is the dictionary, but frankly, you may not want to use it. There are lots of ways to do a force of a word and in developing your own script, a different way to do this will probably come naturally.

You cannot change the ending of the Scrabble tile prediction and Menotti has provided probably the easiest way to make that happen. Keep this in mind as you think about your own show. After watching this, I was skeptical this could play for a larger audience. After all, Menotti did this on TV and some of the props are very small. But like all good Mentalism, many of the audience's conclusions are filled in by knowing other spectators closer to the action have confirmed everything. Plus Menotti shows you a video of him doing the exact same routine in a small black box theater. It's a much better video to watch than the FOOL US clip because it shows how Menotti handles his audience.

I think this is a fine addition if you normally do shows for a hundred people or less and it will fool the pants off them.
