Show three pieces of rope, each a different length. The ropes are 14", 30", and 48" long. You explain that what you have is three "unequal" equal lengths of rope, but that by magic you will change them into three "equal" equal lengths of rope. So, you tuck the three ropes into your hand, and SHAZZAM.... when the ropes are removed from your hand, they are all exactly equal. Once again, you tuck the ropes into your hand, and when they are removed, they have returned to their original state. The ropes can he handed for examination at any time, either before or after the effect.
