This is a limited edition reprint of Steve Burton's long out of print 1997 reprint of the 1634 first edition of this seminal text, the first known illustrated book in English to teach magic, rather than merely expose it. Burton scholarly 11 page excursus is retained, and an insightful 13 page introduction by Stephen Minch has been added, commenting on the questions of authorship and the historical importance of the text.
