Product Description

We all want to believe that we are in control. We want to believe that our decisions are our own. But maybe those are just beliefs....

You begin by removing a small piece of paper from a cloth bag and handing the bag to a helper. You explain that you'd like their help in an experiment involving free will. Your helper removes three wooden disks from the inside of the bag. Each disk has a simple geometric shape on one side. The helper mixes up the disks and then places them face down on the table.

The helper now chooses one disk for himself, one for the performer, and one to be put back in the bag. The choices are always up to the helper and they may change their mind before they commit to the selections.

You now ask one final question to the helper, "Did you feel every choice you made was of your own free will?" The helper responds, "Yes." The helper now opens the piece of paper which has been on display before ANY choices were made and it explains with complete accuracy where each of the symbols is now located!

A terribly unnerving reminder that the choices we make may not always be our own!

* A diabolically clever effect! Insanely easy to do!
* FREE WILL uses no switches or sleight of hand!
* Everything may be examined!

Free Will is one of my favourites. Light and easy to carry in your pocket. The instructions make you think the trick is difficult, but once you grasp the principle Free Will is very easy and never fails. I prefer writing the prediction myself not showing what I wrote instead of using the standard one. In that way you can change the outcome when repeatperforming for several persons at the same table.

If they would come out with a metal version I would buy it in order to avoid some people suspecting you know the chips by the slightly different grain which is unavoidable in natural wood. Highly recommended.

Thought this trick was going to be tough but I was wrong!! You just need to rehearse it some. Then what you have is a
smooth and clean effect.

I've just received a copy of this effect, and am quite pleased with both the props and methods. This is one of those effects that matches it's promotional blurb, and will not disappoint (in my opinion). It includes two principals, one which is familiar to me, the other, well worth the money so far as it's subtle cunning. I too consider remaking the props out of metal, but that's no complaint about what you'll receive. An inconsistency of printing contrast on one of my discs, was easily remedied with a pen. The effect is lightweight, examinable, and can be made more exotic looking by using a different bag (mine is black, and without character). It's also entirely possibly to remake the props in any number of ways, if your'e into window dressing. This effect comes with an addtional handling, as well worth employing as the first. Being an instructor of art and design , I do appreciate the usage of classic geometric symbols on the discs, as this, along with the wood, help gives the... [Read More]
